Joel Akers, Mike Danneman and I left early this morning to go along the Moffat line in search of the every elusive train. Our efforts were paid well, saw a total of seven trains.
Please note that there are a lot of pictures in this sequence and I have broken it up into three pages. Links to all three parts are at the top and bottom of each page.

Union Pacific #6883 C44AC & #8307 SD90AC lead a loaded coal train towards Denver. Two more units were mid-train with engines five and six on the end pushing. This is just coming out of Tunnel 1 heading towards the bridge over Colorado 72. A strong 2% downgrade.

Heading towards the Blue Mountain crossing.

A Track Maintainer high rail got on the line at Tolland and eventually went to Winter Park through the Moffat Tunnel. Here it is passing the signal at the west end of the Eat Portal siding.

A Coal train with five engines had exited the tunnel about 20 minutes previously. The fans are still exhausting a lot of smoke. The high rail waited until most of the smoke had cleared before entering the tunnel.
